Registration
All Danish commercial vessels, including fishing vessels must be registered by the DMA ( Danish Maritime Authority ) using special forms.
For registration must include the ships ownership to be reported. Before a ship can be considered as Danish, and thus fly the Danish flag, the ship owner - as a rule must be danish. For the EU - and EEA citizens there are special rules.
The ship is given identifictaion letters ( title number ). There is then, generally, the ability to make right registrations ( registrations of owners, mortgages, rights of use etc. ) When a loan is registered in ship registration it has the same effect as registration of mortgages on land. It protects the lender against the owners transactions and creditors.
